Rant:
I’ve spent a lot of years in Art college and although most of my time has been pleasant or atleast educational, an increasing amount of it is becoming annoying. Not just slightly annoying, but annoying to the degree where i can’t stand being around people anymore. I guess this is down to the conflict of egos [mine and other students].
Ego seems to be present more than work in most situation around my college. I know you can’t get rid of ego, and that it is instinctive and good to have, but there is one form of it which i simply cannot stand. It is when people act like they have sampled everything this world has to offer, and inherently feel superior to the world WE live in, that this stem of ignorance arrogance arises.
I know that however wise we think we are, there will always be something we do not understand or cannot properly relate to. For example, I have spent nights sleeping ‘rough’, but i have no idea what it is like to be homeless and I have been up close to animals fighting every day for their lives, but i do not know the fear that they feel.
I also know i have a lot to learn myself, and a lot to learn about human nature. One thing that seems to be coming more and more apparent though is this:
Human Beings become wiser everyday, but we will never know as much as we think we know.
Rant over/forgotten, here is a picture i drew…
